Health Educator & Workforce Development Coordinator

Help build the healthcare workforce of tomorrow.
Eastcentral Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center (EC PA AHEC) is seeking an experienced, self-directed Health Educator & Workforce Development Coordinator to help expand healthcare career pathways, strengthen workforce development initiatives, and deliver impactful health education programs throughout our region.
This position is ideal for a professional who can take initiative, manage projects independently, build strong community relationships, and turn ideas into successful programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director while independently managing assigned programs, activities, partnerships, and events.
You will have the opportunity to work with high school and college students, Community Health Workers, educators, healthcare organizations, and community partners while helping to shape programs that address the region's healthcare workforce needs.

What You'll Do
Lead Healthcare Career Pathway Initiatives
  • Independently plan, coordinate, and implement healthcare career exploration activities for high school and college students.
  • Develop relationships with schools, colleges, healthcare organizations, and employers to expand career-connected learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate pre-apprenticeship, career exploration, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource to students exploring healthcare education and career options.

Lead & Support Community Health Worker Education
  • Recruit and support participants in EC PA AHEC's Community Health Worker (CHW) training program.
  • Deliver CHW curriculum in an engaging, professional, and supportive learning environment.
  • Manage assigned aspects of the CHW program, including communication, scheduling, participant support, and program activities.

Develop & Coordinate Programs and Events
  • Take the lead in planning and executing educational programs, workshops, simulations, career events, and community activities.
  • Work with the Executive Director to develop new initiatives while independently managing assigned projects from planning through completion.
  • Identify opportunities to expand EC PA AHEC's programs and respond to emerging workforce and community needs.

Build & Manage Partnerships
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with schools, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other partners.
  • Represent EC PA AHEC professionally at community, school, healthcare, and professional events.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration and develop partnerships that support organizational goals.

Manage Program Data & Evaluation
  • Maintain accurate participant and program information in Salesforce.
  • Use data and feedback to strengthen programs and demonstrate impact.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced professional who is comfortable taking ownership, working independently, and managing multiple priorities.
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Education, Human Services, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in health education, workforce development, community engagement, student programming, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience independently coordinating programs, projects, or events.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional partnerships with schools, healthcare organizations, community organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, solve problems, and follow projects through to completion.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.

Preferred:
  • Experience working with high school or college students.
  • Experience with healthcare career pathways or workforce development.
  • Experience with Community Health Workers or community-based programs.
  • Experience developing or delivering educational programs.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
  • Experience with event planning and community partnerships.
  • Familiarity with diversity recruitment, mentorship, and inclusive educational practices.

Salary range $53,000- $57,000 based on experience
